Wildwater Racing Rules – Change to section 17. Timing

The Wildwater Racing Committee are looking to change Section 17. Timing in the Wildwater Racing Rules and would like feedback within 21 days to the suggested changes.

The aim of the changes are:-

  • KISS keep them simple. Over the years the timing rules have morphed into a ridiculously complex set of rules.
  • They must be practical to implement by a club organiser on a remote river bank in a hailstorm in February.
  • They should be suitable for all races from local races to National and selection races. 9 out of 10 races are run using stopwatches and held starts but the rules also need to cover beam start and finish races.
  • They must be suitable for both sprint (<1 min) and classic (5 to 20+ mins)
