GB Junior Women K1 – 2023 Roundnice World Championships
The International Canoe Federation and the organisers of the Junior & U23 2023 Roudnice World Championships have requested that GB considered entering the three Junior Women development athletes in to the main Junior Women’s Individual and Team races. This would make the team race quorate and allow medals to be presented. They have gone out to the championships as a development opportunity and it was planned for them to race as forerunners.
By a majority vote of the Wildwater Racing committee the request was agreed to. The committee are aware that this decision goes against the 2023 selection policy on a number of points but the majority view was that supporting the ICF request and the future of sport outweighed the negative aspects.
