Covid-19 and the 2019-20 WWR Season

As we head into the summer months the outlook for the rest of this year is still uncertain. So far we know that Wildwater Racing will not be starting again in the UK before June at the very earliest and following the cancellation of the Senior World Championships that should have been under way in the USA this week we are still waiting to receive news about the Jr/U23 European Championships scheduled for mid August. The European Canoe Association should give an update at the beginning of May.
The committee takes this opportunity to pass on our very best wishes to the paddling community front line NHS staff and key workers out there. Thank you very much for continuing to keep our essential services functioning, maintaining our food supply chains, modifying working practices as needed and putting yourselves at increased levels of risk.
Under discussion at the moment is the racing season, the effect that Covid-19 is having on race cancellations and the possibility of shifting the National Championship racing season to be exactly aligned with the Calendar Year. We are seeking thoughts and feedback about different alternatives from the WWR community.
