Welcome to Wildwater Canoeing

Wildwater Canoeing is a discipline of canoe racing, also known as Wildwater Racing and Whitewater Racing. The wildwater time trial is the purest of whitewater racing forms - the athlete, the river, the clock.

A racing performance is the result of physical conditioning, skill and harmony with the water - and is the only sport where social paddling is necessary to achieve a peak performance. Beautiful water, scenery and companionship make the Wild Water Racing experience compelling. The competitor is free to take whichever route on the river they desire, a freedom of racing unsurpassed in the whitewater world.

We have the last Barrow Race of the season next Saturday 9th March at the Boathouse, Barrow on Soar  - always a great event  so please come along and join us. 

The following weekend of 16th & 17th March we have the Dart English Open on the Saturday and Sunday. Wiltshire Youth Canoe Club ares running a novice sprint race within the Dart National weekend. It will be based at the sprint course in the Dart Country Park, suitable for very new novice paddlers, and good place to start learning about white water. First runs will be at 2pm. WYCC will be at the country park for practice runs from 10am and are willing to help anyone that needs it, please let us know in advance.

Apologies - will have to postpone the Burrs - North West paddlers (and any one else who wishes to join us) please get in touch and We'll reschedule for slightly later in the spring - if we get prepared can pick a weekend when there's some rain! Many thanks,  We do have the Barrow Summer Series being planned so we will be developing more races in the NW.
